Title: 'Social Service Worker' BTS Suga Booked for DUI on Electric Scooter; License Revoked Level

Suga (real name Min Yoongi), a member of the idol group BTS, who is currently serving as a social service worker, is under police investigation for riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol.

The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced on the 7th that Suga had been booked for violating the Road Traffic Act (DUI).

According to the police, Suga was found after falling off his electric scooter on the street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, the previous day. Nearby police officers who approached to assist him detected the smell of alcohol and transferred him to a nearby police station.

Suga’s blood alcohol content was measured at a level that warrants license revocation (0.08% or higher).

On the same day, Suga addressed the incident on his social media, stating, "After drinking at a dinner last night, I rode an electric scooter to go home. I did not fully recognize that it was illegal to use an electric scooter while under the influence, mistakenly thinking it was a short distance," and added, "I apologize to everyone for my irresponsible behavior with no excuse."

Suga entered the Nonsan Training Center in Chungnam last March for basic military training and is currently serving as a social service worker. His discharge date is set for June 2025.
